Dr. Fatima Al-Hudaid

Senior Doctor of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncturist

Dr Fatima has accumulated 13 years of clinical experience and has developed special interests centred around the treatment of stubborn body pains and aches, fertility and digestive health.

She holds a double degree in Chinese Medicine and Human Biology from RMIT University in Melbourne and has gained extensive clinical experience across Melbourne, Perth and the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of TCM in China.

Fatima finds deep satisfaction in witnessing positive changes within a reasonable timeframe and aims to make the most of every treatment session to help her patients achieve the best possible outcome. This is what led her to recently undertake advanced training in orthopaedic acupuncture, learning techniques to support the treatment of persistent and stubborn pain conditions that can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. She has a special interest in managing pain associated with gradual wear and tear, injury or post-operative recovery. Some of the conditions she treats include lower back pain, tennis elbow, and neck and shoulder pain.

She is also experienced in supporting a range of women’s health concerns, including irregular periods and symptoms associated with PCOS and endometriosis. She enjoys supporting couples throughout their fertility journey, whether trying to conceive naturally or undergoing IVF/IUI, as well as providing care throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Digestive health is another key area of her practice. She takes a whole-body approach, recognising the important relationship between digestive health and broader concerns such as inflammation, stress levels, energy and sleep.

Her approach reflects both Chinese medicine principles and her knowledge of human biology. She sees the body as interconnected parts of a whole and enjoys “connecting the dots” between different aspects of an individual’s health rather than looking at symptoms in isolation.

During her consultations and treatment sessions, Fatima strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel safe to open up and express themselves. She believes that the different emotional states we experience as humans, including anxiety and depression, are important to be openly discussed rather than ignored.

Above all, Fatima values creating a space where patients feel heard, understood and involved in their care.

Other conditions she can assist with include symptoms of colds and flu, sinusitis, migraines, fibromyalgia and hay fever.

She is registered with AHPRA and is a member of AACMA and NCA.
